In a world where curses and magic are an occupational hazard, you can't really blame Mr. Storekeeper for being superstitious.

So I’m really starting to like this storekeeper fellow. See this story from scene to scene is board driven (mostly). And while I have the overarching plots, mystery and major characters all planned out, the journey to get to the greater plot points is pretty loose, so I can feel my way though the story as I draw it, to find the best way (for me) to tell it.

The point when I realized that the storekeeper was going to throw Nule out and be like "Straighten your life out! Stop stealing! make your bed!" etc. (you know, rather than beating him within an inch of his life, or actually killing him) was the moment I decided I liked Mr. Storekeeper man.

But it looks like something even worse might be waiting just outside the door.

On an unrelated note, Nule just lost about a foot off of his established height in these panels. Don't know how that happened. But he turned out so ridiculously cute I can't stand it. Oh well…

Not sure if anyone actually reads these. But let me know what you think.
