Dr5pectre onThe Stallo generally live in small communities, somewhat isolated from other species. Having been plagued by war after war for the past hundred years, the Stallo do not trust easily. Culturally, their nature is gruff, somewhat offhanded, hardworking and proud. Family and community are paramount.
They generally don’t have a lot of interactions with other species, and are often caricatured by others as being large, cruel, and unintelligent, but also very gullible and easy to manipulate. Stallo have their own list of stereotypes about other races and because of the near constant warfare, are slow to warm up to strangers. But in general, they’re not bad people. They may act gruff, but many will give you the shirt off their backs if moved to sympathy. (This cultural phenomenon, might be the source of the belief that Stallo are gullible and easy to manipulate.)
Because the Stallo are isolated, Mr. Shopkeeper here hasn’t had a great amount of interaction with smaller people. A gruff word, and a bit of rough handling, seems to mean something a lot different when the recipient is the size of your palm. As Mr. Shopkeeper is discovering. He’s a bit bewildered by Nule’s reaction. No one in his entire life has genuinely believed he was going to kill them. Nor have they begged him not to crush them. He’s understandably guilty about giving them impression off. Especially since he’d only ever intended to throw Nule out of the shop for being an obvious conman. Not put the fear of death in him.
Nule on the other-hand doesn’t know what to think of all this.
