So the way I hear it is that DC ripped off a Marvel character to make Deathstroke (I'm not sure who) and in retaliation, Marvel made Deadpool as a parody of Deathstroke. So Deadpool is a parody of a rip off.

I mean, look at their names. Slade "Deathstroke" Wilson and Wade "Deadpool" Wilson.

Deathstroke is cool, but I prefer Deadpool. When my friend introduced me to Deadpool, I watched the Teen Titans on a regular basis and had knowledge of the fact that Slade's last name was Wilson and that in the comic they called him Deathstroke and he mentioned the name and I was like "Wait…the Teen Titans villain?" but then I saw the character and laughed at the difference. So Deathstroke is partially to blame for me liking Deadpool.
