285. Rubbery Lips

Rubber Lips…sounds uncomforatable.

Ahem…anyway…

When I saw Batman and Robin in theaters, I went to use the bathroom during this scene and came back and my sister told me about the rubber lips. In my mind, I was thinking those big novelty rubber lips that you get and didn't understand how Poison Ivy could have been fooled by them.

And then I saw it on VHS and the scene confused me because it didn't look like rubber, but like he was peeling the skin off his lips…or at the very least tape.

Besides that, it seems like poison on lips wouldn't be nearly as effective as some kind of gland that releases poison into the victim, so if there was tongue involved, Robin would have ingested the poison and have died regardless of the "rubber" lips.
