This is a mistake I used to make a lot before I got into the show. In fact, when I saw my first episode of Doctor Who, I was confused when the Ninth Doctor introduced himself because I was expecting him to say "Doctor Who" rather than "The Doctor," but as time went by, I realized that he's just "The Doctor."
