Y'know…for being a big, multi-X-Men franchise story arc, the actually story in it is pretty mundane. I mean, it's something you'd expect to be in ONE of the X-Men titles, not a big Marvel event.Basically, the original X-Men were brought from the past by Beast to the future in hopes that Beast can inspire their present selves not to turn out that way…or something like that.And so the old X-Men are chilling. Well, original Cyclops has a near death experience, which causes present Cyclops to flicker out of existence until past Cyclops is revived. So the X-Men decide enough is enough and they're about to send the past X-Men back when…the FUTURE X-Men show up. And past Jean Grey and Cyclops run off.Anyway…among the future X-Men is Deadpool. When I saw him, I thought "gee, that guy looks like Deadpool. Surely, that's not Deadpool." And then someone refers to him by name and I go, "Good God! Deadpool is an X-Man."Thus this comic was born! (But not the Powerpuffs.)
