I got curious and Googled it because the Dairanger costumes were pretty cool. This is pretty much the reason I found out. Not sure if it's true or not or I'm fully grasping the reasoning behind it, but it makes sense especially since most kids' series revolve around selling toys. (There's always the exception like Beast Wars…oddly enough. The writers fought the toy company during most of it, Gravity Falls, Avatar, Invader Zim, etc. You know…the better written series.)
