This is loosely based on a conversation I had with my friend while I was in Austin. See, we passed this Mr. Gatti’s Pizza, which I didn’t know still existed since I only knew of them when I lived in Wichita Falls, Texas. When I moved to Fort Worth and later to another city in the DFW area, I no longer saw these restaurants, but when I was a kid, I always thought Mr. Gatti was a real person and if we went to the restaurant on certain days we could meet him.

This started a conversation, somehow, about Wendy and Dave Thomas of Wendy’s and my friend told me this story about how Dave Thomas named the fast food restaurant after his daughter who died at childbirth and told me it was a very sad, very scary story. He forced me to not look it up after I didn’t believe him and said that I remembered seeing Wendy Thomas in a commercial.
