If you haven't seen The Mandalorian, he's forbidden to let other people see his face. With that being said, I'm not sure where that came from. Mandalorians in The Clone Wars and Rebels took their helmets off all the time. I've heard some people say it might be because The Mandalorian was a foundling and maybe someone born of Mandalore aren't under strict rules. Personally, I think it might be the clans. I think maybe Sabine's clan might not have this rule, but Mando's might. It could also be something that came from the Empire's purge of the Mandalorians, so it wouldn't come into effect until well after Clone Wars or Rebels. I'm not sure.
