Teddie's observation is of course based on my own…I really don't like how they handled Akihiko in Arena. For starters his appearance makes no sense. Look at Persona 3, Akihiko was always a pretty snazzy dresser. His winter casuals were stylin'. Now he's in this shredded cloak and combat boots? It makes no sense for his character. I read on the MegaTen wiki that apparently originally Akihiko was gonna dress more like Jason Statham in the Transporter movies…that woulda been SO much cooler. Akihiko beating the crap out of the P4 cast in a suit and tie. I suck with Akihiko and he would have been my main just based on that.
Also his personality…they pretty much turned him into a comedy character, when in P3 he was usually one of the more serious ones. Does anyone else here agree that he actually seems more meatheaded in Arena than he did at the very start of P3? It just seems like a step backwards. Like they forgot all of his character development. It makes me sad, because I always really liked Akihiko, and the way he was handled in P4A is just…ugh…
