The idea of having Yu and Rise break up during Add-On was one that was probably planned pre-emptively. It really was one of the first ideas I had for the series, long before we had any details regarding the story itself.
Once I finally got the play the story though, I knew it was something I had to keep because I loved the idea of her breaking up with him via the Persona equivalent of a text message. As you can see, he isn't taking the news very well.
