Little animals or no (I'm sure I don't remember drawing anything in the bottom lefthand corner…) there's one thing that's for sure.

"Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

For example, when you know next to nothing about computers, their behavior may seem a bit magical. Especially when you've gotten to page Thirteen of a comic you're assembling on a computer… and all of a sudden your well behaved program becomes hostile and eats the page four times in a row.

Now, I'm sure there's a rational explanation for this, but, for this layman the only possible explanation seems to be…
