Page description: Pinky and Ace are waiting for the leader of riders to approach. He does, unmasks and introduces himself as El Borak. Ace is surprised by this because he had expected a man called Gregory. Pinky is wondering why Ace is so concerned, and if he is why doesn't he explain it to her? It seems that Mr Kincaid is just being a dick.
Commentary: Well I'm back to the main story again now. This page carries on from the last collab dream page as well as page 18 of Part 7 (current chapter). Wow, this too a month. Reason: problems with my drawing method. Hopefully I've learned some lessons about not being so tight in my style and worrying about the quality of my line art so much! You see it's the colour painting stage where the real work is done in this style, for organic shapes at least.
You may notice that the character El Borak doesn't look too Arab, Persian or whatever. This is because he's not. He's an American, a character borrowed from Robert E Howard (author of Conan). You can probably find out about him online somewhere if you're interested, but you don't need to. :)
This scene occurs during sunrise. I love the light at that time! The light was no trouble but getting the mecha, Ace and Pinky, AND Ace's hair to be the right way around was! I had to do a lot of flipping here.
LASTLY, I have major website work to do. I have a LOT of high quality fanart to stick up but I need to redesign the overcrowded fanart gallery first.
