Ekans and Sandshrew are opposites in FR/LG. Where one is only availible in FR, the other is availible in LG. They fight just like Seviper and Zangoose would. Notice something?

It's a match! Yeah, Hoenn took a lot of ideas from the 1st generation games.

He also catches a Mankey between this comic and the next.

Gary now cannot stand anyone who calls him Blue, including the Pokedex. Huh.

Brock has a permanent girlfriend in the comic. Do you wanna know who it is? It's Pike Queen Lucy of the Battle Frontier. In the anime, Brock does his episodely flirt, and, of course, is pulled away by Max. But Lucy actually falls in love with him, but Brock leaves before he finds out. Huh. And it's true, Lucy could probably beat Brock in a battle. Seviper, Shuckle, and MILOTIC, a WATER Pokemon, against Brock's all-rock team. Lucy is strong, of course, but she's the only Frontier Brain I've actually beaten on Emerald. Maybe because she's the only one I met, because the Battle Pike is all luck. And, with good luck, you're able to skip a whole bunch of battles. Yup.

'The Boulder' Brock! 'The Boulder' is a character from one of my favorite shows, Avatar: The Last Airbender. 'The Boulder' always refers to himself in the third person. 'The Boulder' is a professional earthbending wrestler. 'The Boulder' is a parody of 'The Rock.'

I believe this comic is the last which uses James' blue outfit. His outfit is recoloured later on to look like the D/P Bug Catcher. And those colours look a lot better.
