I apparently miscalculated in the Staryu/Aerodactyl battle. Staryu would've fainted before it could Recover, but I forgot that and allowed it to heal itself, making this battle longer and longer.

Look at the sixth panel. Can you see the person in the bottom right hand corner? Yup, it's Brendan from Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire! In the seventh panel, you can see May following him. I'm not sure why Brendan and May would be in Kanto while they have their own journeys going on in Hoenn. (One is a Pokemon Trainer, one is a Pokemon Researcher. Really depends on who the main character is.)
