Okay, allow me to explain what is going on.

First panel, Diana prepares to obliterate Red and James. Then, a blue beam of light comes through the ceiling and hits the pool, making a big explosion, destroying a part of the platform. All the Pokemon are knocked out except Butterfree. They all wake up soon after, though, and the ceiling has a big hole in it, making a lot of light. The mysterious Pokemon comments that it couldn't destroy the entire building, and Giovanni is to blame.

Not one of my better comics, I know.
