Since Battle Frontier takes place at the same time as the main comic, it meets a certain points.

For example, May and Brendan are walking by while Gary and Brock fight. And Wally is in Saffron City's Pokemon Center. The reasons they are there are explained in Battle Frontier.

So, the date in this comic is the same date Gary and Brock have their gym battle.
