The sprite of Mewtwo's… I dunno attack is a recolour of a Dragonball Z sprite. You've seen that before in Double Trouble, when Mewtwo blows up Cerulean Gym.

And the sky is taken from Neo Green Hill Zone from Sonic Advance. Just some clouds is all.

The sprite in the second panel of Mewtwo is resized because he is closer. Behind him, you can see Articuno and Charizard with Gary on its back. Bad idea, huh?
