This is a copy of a letter from Bill to some university. It's dated 2009 because they were discovered before GSC but after RBY, and the events of Random Kanto are in Summer 2008.

This isn't what Bill gave Red to help him evolve Eevee.

I used real Latin for the Pokemon name, with evolvus followed by the Pokemon type (not element) in Latin.

Eevee = evolvus minor, being the basic form.
Vapereon = evolvus ebullio, for bubble. Vaporeon's type is bubble jet.
Jolteon = evolvus levitas, for lightning.
Flareon = evolvus flammas, for flame.
Espeon = evolvus solis, for sun.
Umbreon = evolvus luna, for moon.
Leafeon = evolvus gramen, for grassy. Verdant is another word for grassy, and verdant is Leafeon's type.
Glaceon = evolvus glacies, for ice. Glaceon's type is fresh snow, but snow isn't a word, so I used ice.

Internet translators can be very useful.
