I'm likely on the plane ride back now. As for the inspiration for this comic…one of my favorite TV shows is Heroes. In Heroes, Hiro time travels into the future, to see New York City blow up before his eyes, destroying everything and killing everyone. He time travels back, and for the rest of the season, all of the characters' actions and motives are all leading up to this fate they know will happen (it's a similar system with Isaac's paintings)
So, this page's inspiration comes from that story element. The element of showing something like a vision, that usually means something deeper. Is it an abstract dream with a meaning about Kyle's life? Is it a glimpse of the future? Or perhaps a look into the past? And what's up with that talking Charmeleon? This dream/vision/thingy will be an important page to remember, as it plays a role in the future chapters."
