The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Core (IRGC) of Iran is going to be put on the 'Terror List' by the US government. The main reason is the smuggling and support of the Iraqi fighters opposing US forces in Iraq. The IRGC works apart from the rest of the Iranian military it even has its own air force, navy, and special forces.
By putting them on the list the US can target their finacial support.
