Yes. Yes. FARTMUTANT. Jeremiah is now a mutated fart monster. this incarnation of jeremiah persists through out many chapters and for many many pages. in the original first chapter, Jeff exclaims that jeremiah is now a fartmutant, and in the next panel the fartmutant is grabbing chia. one little 2" x 3" panel was all the introduction he got. at the time, i admit, i had no idea what fartmutant would evolve into as a major player and character in this story. at least now he gets some justice in a more dramatic intro and rendering!
