@Primalx3: Typically a traditional animation of 60 seconds can take anywhere from three to eight weeks months of work depending on the level of detail from beginning to end and number of people involved. If for example you use programs such as flash or animate pro, it can take less time depending on weather you choose to draw it, or longer depending on if you make a puppet. CG wise, Maya can take forever if you are starting from scratch, i.e. setting up the skeleton and skin, not to mention the actual animation (the many tweaks involved to make it look fluid.) My advice: Pick something you like and learn as much about techniques and ways to cut corners as possible to get a good quality job done. Also don't be afraid to start over if it goes FUBAR.
