I'm not positive which show this is from, but it's an old one - classic, as it were. Those are the lyrics. I'll type them at the end in case my handwriting is illegible (even though I took great pains to make it conform to socety's idea of readability). If you ever watch PBS they sometimes show Broadway's Lost Treasures. On Volume III they have a video of Ethel Merman singing songs. Now, Broadway Enthusiast that I am, I really do NOT like Ethel Merman's voice at all. It really grates on my nerves, but, regardless, she sings this song with some scrawny guy in glasses… I just always found it funny that when she sung "Put your head on my shoulders" she literally grabbed his head and pulled it into her giant boobs. Hence the picture.
Anyway. Lyrics: "I hear singing and there's no one there I smell blossoms but the trees are bare All day long I seem to walk on air I wonder why I wonder why
I keep tossing in my sleep at night And I think I've lost my appetite Stars that used to twinkly in the skies Are twinlking in my eyes I wonder why
You don't need analyzin' It is not so surprisin' That you feel very strange by nice
Your heart goes pitter-patter I know just what's the matter Because I've been there once or twice
Put your head on my shoulder You need someone who's older A rub down with a velvet glove
There is nothing you can take To relieve that plesant ache. You're not sick you're just In Love!"
