Gone, but Never Forgotten

UPDATE: at the risk of sounding flaky, I'm sure everyone understands I wasn't in the best frame of mind when I originally wrote this… as far as the updates go, that's still up in the air, so I'll probably keep updating as usual when I'm ready to come back.

Hey everyone, sorry to update today with a sad (and really long) post but as you may have already guessed from the picture, I lost one of my cats at 16 years old this Monday. She was a sweet cat, I've loved her since I got her and I'll love her forever. And Lord knows there have been plenty of times I could have done better, but I hope when she went to God she did so knowing she was spoiled rotten.

It sucks that some times it takes losing a life to really know its value. We all do our best, but some times we look back and think, maybe I should have put the phone or the controller down and focused more on the people, two-legged, four, finned, etc., that are in front of us. Me and my wife have a foster home for cats, and our current crew numbers 14.

In case you're getting the wrong idea of where this is going, I've promised myself to finish this story whether it takes 3 years or 30, so PynkFL isn't going anywhere; but, these pages, naturally, do take time to make, and that's time away from my furballs. I might be ditching the weekly Wednesday updates and focusing on the comic only when there's time between taking care of my furry family and spending time with my wife. It's gonna be scary for me because this is where these things tend to fall apart, but even if I fail I'd rather lose another comic series than have to wonder if it was enough when I finally have to say goodbye.

As for how I'm planning on doing things moving forward, I had been toying with the idea for a while now of making a spinoff series that was super quick to make, then finishing each chapter of PynkFL and putting them out at the rate of 1 every weekday once a chapter is finished. I hate to mess with the schedule again, but I know The Duck is full of great people who understand the needs of its community.
