PAGE TWELVE (Five Panels)

Panel 1. Tight Shot. NICK awakes from his nightmare in a shock. The room is dark, and we can’t yet fully see that a Quantum fragment has imbedded itself into NICK’S head.

NICK (burst): NOOOOOOOOO!

Panel 2. Zoom out a little. NICK is starting to get out of his bed, dressed in a pair of pajama bottoms. He’s holding his head, reeling in pain from a migraine. A wisp of smoke appears to be coming out from behind his hands.

NICK: UGH, GOD…

NICK (thought): UUHHHHNG…HEAD’S KILLING ME.

Panel 3. Wide shot. NICK is walking towards his bathroom. We can see a little more of the bedroom now, not too sloppy but in a little disrepair, with all of the things you’d expect (maybe a computer desk, lamps, slightly overfull clothes hamper, a guitar and an amp). There’s a chair next to the desk with some clothes hanging on them. NICK’S one hand still holding his head, the other is turning on a light-switch. A discernable glow is emanating from his forehead.

NICK: MY KINGDOM FOR A TYLENOL

NICK: –OR A JOINT.

Panel 4. Over the shoulder shot. NICK has opened the medicine cabinet and is looking for aspirin. We can see the Quantum fragment better now, but NICK is still oblivious.

NICK (Thought): DAMN. SOMEBODY GET THE NUMBER OF THE TRUCK THAT–

NICK (Thought): –DIDN’T HIT ME.

Panel 5. Same angle. Having closed the cabinet, NICK is in his bathroom, looking at himself in the cabinet mirror, aghast. Staring back at him is his own image with the fragment of Quantum lodged in his forehead. The fragment is glowing, and small wisps of smoke are still vaporizing from it. He’s dropping the bottle of pills.

NICK: WHAT THE–

NICK (burst): WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??
