PAGE NINE (Four Panels). Page Summary: NICK complains about the gem that’s now imbedded in his head. STOLTZ shows NICK full view of QUANTUM fragment in STOLTZ’S own chest. “You think THAT’S bad…” RECAP!

Panel 1. Wide Shot. NICK scolds STOLTZ. We see more of the wasteland that’s become Quantum Ground Zero. NICK is pointing to the gem in his forehead.

NICK: SWELL.

NICK: AND NOW, THANKS TO YOU, I’M STUCK IN A WORLD WHERE THE NAZIS RULE THE EARTH…

Panel 2. Another Angle. NICK continues to absorb the situation.

NICK: …EXCEPT EVERYTHING’S BEEN BLOWN TO HELL.

NICK: OH, AND I’VE ALSO GOT A MAGIC ROCK IN MY HEAD THAT ALLOWS ME TO DISAPPEAR.

NICK: IS THAT ABOUT IT, PROFESSOR?

Panel 3. Closer. STOLTZ responds to NICK. He is unbuttoning his shirt, preparing to bear his chest.

STOLTZ: WELL, I DON’T KNOW IF “STUCK” IS A PERMANENT CONDITION.

STOLTZ: NOT WITH THE POWER WE’VE ACQUIRED.

STOLTZ: BUT IF YOU THINK YOU’VE GOT IT BAD…

Panel 4. Zoom in. STOLTZ opens his shirt, showing us the full view of the large fragment of Quantum that has lodged itself into the center of his chest.

STOLTZ: …I REMIND YOU TO TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!
