PAGE SEVENTEEN (Five Panels). Page Summary: While searching for BILLY, NICK and STOLTZ stumble upon The Map of the New United States.

Panel 1. Wide Shot. NICK and STOLTZ look in shock at a bookstore-front displaying the map of the New United States, as well as books on display about the post-nuke world (make a book display, and I’ll put in the titles of the books). Around them are more symbols of the apocalypse.

NICK: STOLTZ…

NICK: WHAT IS THIS? AM I LOOKING AT A MAP OF THE USA?

NICK: WHAT ON EARTH–?

Panel 2. Closer. STOLTZ tries to talk down a weary NICK.

STOLTZ: SEE, NICK? THIS ISN’T THE WORLD EITHER ONE OF US COMES FROM. EACH FRAGMENT OF THE QUANTUM SEEMS TO BE ON IT’S OWN PLANE OF…

Panel 3. Over the shoulder shot. NICK and STOLTZ examine the map further. If possible show some factual data, like Denver, CO as the capital of the United States, California broken at the San Andreas, etc.

STOLTZ: …FASCINATING.

NICK: LOOK AT THIS. THE ENTIRE WEST COAST HAS BEEN OBLITERIATED. NEW YORK’S GONE. THE MISSISSIPPI’S POURING INTO THE GULF.

Panel 4. Another Angle. NICK notices STOLTZ’S bare uniform.

NICK: HEY.

NICK: I NOTICED…BEFORE WE TIME-JUMPED.

NICK: YOU TORE OFF YOUR PATCHES.

STOLTZ: AH. YES.

Panel 5. Zoom on STOLTZ, who explains his position on Nazi politics.

STOLTZ: LET’S JUST SAY…

NICK: RIGHT.
