Page Summary: The Trio catch up. Billy creates a joint out of thin air and proceeds to smoke it.

Panel 1. As Billy continues to explain the demise of his world, he conjures up something with his power, his hand emitting its unique energy signature.

BILLY: YEAH, IT WAS REALLY FUCKIN’ SCARY…

BILLY: FIRST, ALL THE MAJOR CITIES GOT HIT–

BILLY: NEW YORK. L.A. BOSTON. MOSCOW. EUROPE.

BILLY: vvvvvvmmmm

Panel 2. Same Angle. As Billy reveals more of the terrible fate of his world to Nick and Stoltz, the object he was conjuring is revealed to be a joint.

BILLY: THEN IT WENT ON AUTO-PILOT. ATLANTA, SAN FRAN, CHICAGO. ETCETERA AND SO FORTH…

BILLY: …ALL FUCKING RUBBLE.

NICK: WHAT A WASTE…

Panel 3. Another angle. As Billy reveals more of his story, he lights his joint. Nick and Stoltz exchange a glance.

BILLY: THEN THERE WAS THE WINTER, AND THE FALLOUT. THE MUTIES–

SFX (Billy): ffffFFFFTTT

BILLY: HALF OF THE WORLD POPULATION WAS GONE WITHIN A DAY. NEARLY TWO-THIRDS IN A MATTER OF MONTHS.

Panel 4. Medium Shot. The Trio still walking down the street, Billy offers an appalled Nick the joint he’s just created.

BILLY: THE ONLY ONES WHO MADE IT WERE ALL OF US SMALL TOWN FOLK.

BILLY: SMOKE?

NICK: IT’S TEN O’CLOCK IN THE MORNING, FOR CHRISSAKES!

BILLY: HEY, WAKE AND BAKE, BUDDY. EASES THE HANGOVER.
