PAGE THIRTEEN (Six panels)

Page Summary: Back to BILLY’S TIMELINE, as we join NICK, and CO., surprised by music coming seemingly from out of nowhere. Billy is the first to see that trouble is brewing behind them.

Panel 1. Medium Shot. Billy is escorting Nick and Stoltz down the dingy streets of Billings. Nick interrupts him, noticing something.

CAPTION: BACK ON BILLY’S WORLD…

BILLY: …AND THEN THERE ARE THE MUTIES. USED TO BE REALLY BAD ABOUT 5 YEARS AFTER THE ATTACKS, BUT THEY’VE DIED OFF OVER THE YEARS.

BILLY: KIND OF SAD REALLY.

NICK: SHHH! WAIT A SEC.

Panel 2. Closer on Nick, as he looks suspiciously over his shoulder.

SFX: (Music notes growing from nothingness from behind them)

Panel 3. Zoom out. Nick questions his two companions, who haven’t quite picked up on what Nick is hearing. Somewhere behind them, a sliver of energy begins to coalesce.

NICK: GUYS…

SFX: (Music notes continuing to grow even larger)

NICK: YOU HEAR THAT?

STOLTZ: WHAT?

Panel 4. Medium Shot. The three men have stopped walking for a second. Behind the confused trio, the sliver of energy has turned into a small wormhole.

SFX: (Music notes still permeate the air)

BILLY: MUSIC, RIGHT? AND IT SOUNDS LIVE.

NICK: BUT WHERE’S IT COMING FROM?

Panel 5. Another Angle. As Nick and Stoltz look in other directions to see where the music’s coming from, Billy is shocked to witness a parking meter starting to bend in the direction of the off-panel wormhole.

SFX: (Music notes all around.)

SFX (parking meter): kkk–KKrrk–

Panel 6. Close on Billy, suddenly taking notice of the phenomenon, pointing it out the others.

BILLY: UH…

BILLY: NICK–?

BILLY: NICK!!
