Apologies, again, for being crap with updates right now. Family life has been stinking recently so it's been very hard to concentrate on art. :( Today has been quiet~! Plus I'm hyped because I'm off to Amecon tomorrow AND I'm starting a work trial next wednesday! :D
A few interesting comments/questions came up about this page and the one before it…
How did Brandy lose his arm? I'm not sure if this will get explained in the comic so I may as well give this little snippet of his story here~ His and Toffee's family are "geniune" carnival folk (ie. their family has been in the industry for a generations) and they run two food stalls (Toffee's mother owns a fast food stall, Toffee runs a candy shop) and the big wheel ran by Brandy and his father. Basically, when Brandy was little and his father was teaching him how to maintain the ride, Brandy's arm got caught in the mechanics of the big wheel and subsequently had to be removed from the shoulder down. ;_; But because he was so small when it happened he's learnt to adapt well and puts in just as much work as everyone else. ^^
If there's institutional/social bias against black elves, how come his family members have such prestigious jobs? In simple terms (and without giving too many spoilers) the members of Sundae's family who have those good jobs are the ones who don't have black elf blood in them~ (SPOILER - highlight to read)Sundae's mother also had a good job until she gave birth to him… she's the daughter of a black/white elf relationship but was adopted so she had no knowledge of it (as she had pale skin). It was only when Sundae came along that she had to trace her family line and found out the truth and as things happened she lost her job. D: And this all, of course, was pretty detrimental to her feelings towards her son… But also, Sundae's accepting grandmother took him under her wing…(END SPOILER)
Is Toffee Sherbet's estranged wife? No no and no. XD Sherbet's a bit too clever to get a 17 year old up the duff I think… ^^; The father of Toffee's child could be one of many guys - she's been a silly girl. But I think she'll calm down with that bundle of responsibility growing in her tummy. (SPOILER - highlight to read)Sherbet's wife is right there on the character page! *point* XD(END SPOILER)
This page - I'm not too sure if you can tell if the baby has hiccups by just putting your ear on there… or if it would just feel like any other movement… So don't quote me on the accuracy of this. ^^;
