It's in the nature of a child not to trust your word as an adult.

You can talk to them until their ears become swollen or until you see that "interest" spark go off in their eyes and yet they would still try what they want to try regardless of how dangerous/not good you tell them that is.

I personally remember making sure that you do not get stuck that way if you cross your eyes long enough, or testing that really steep ramp my mom used to tell me never to go near while on my bike (several times, mind you).

It's just the way it is, kids got to try for their selves, and there's nothing you can do about it.
