Inking

I really love the way the inks turned out here. especially panel 2 and 3.

With panel 2 I tried experimenting with flicking ink off my brush onto the paper to get the splatter effect, and I gotta say it worked really well.

One problem I had was that I tried masking it off with scotch tape, but the tape ended up ripping the paper when I peeled it off. I tried licking the tape before taping it down to reduce this. But it didn't seem to help, and left a pretty bad taste in mouth too. Any suggestions?

Another nice first was me using what I dub "compound" shadows properly in panel 3. Before this my lighting has always been mono directional, with one light source, be it from the left right, center, bottom, top, whatever. This time I had light coming from two directions. The main source on the left and another less bright source from the right. If you pay attention to lighting in real life or movies, "compound" shadows happen a lot more often than monodirectional shadows as we are often exposed to more lightsource than one.

So all in all, it's been a pretty good day for me.
