[22] Why I Hate Spam part 1

I never actually got spam like that (at least not that I remember…and if I don't remember, I suppose that's a blessing in itself.) I have gotten mistaken e-mails before in the past. The weirdest one was an e-mail I got while I was temporarily on dial-up. I opened it up and noticed through the previews that they were photographs and judging from the message, of a party of some sort. (I use Gmail so they have this preview function for attachments.)

I was on a dial up connection at the time so the images were loading really slow so it took me a while to notice that in this party, everyone was naked. And smiles weren't the only indication of how happy everyone was. :S

I thought at first that this was some brilliant scheme hatched up by spambots for some porn site…but then there was no URL or anything to advertise. It really seemed like what it was: someone sending their friend some pictures of a wild night they shared.

Moral of the story: if you're going to have a party, make sure everyone has their clothes on. And if that's not possible, make sure you get your friend's e-mail right before you send off the photographs. :S

(As a side note, that poster in the first panel is a sketch of a comic idea I had at the time. I later entered it into Dimestore Productions' Small Press Idol but it didn't win.)
