There is a lot of noise pollutants here in Japan, some of them are very VERY shocking!! One of the ones that shocked me was when a campaigning politician's van was louder than the fire truck (with sirens blearing) right behind it… And yes, the police have a double standard system with the noise ordinance here… politicians, vendors, and an anti Asian (not Japanese) group get special treatment, the police are told to turn the other cheek… I did some research, it is said that these types of noise violators pay the city office for a permit… but when I went to the city office to ask, the girl told me that they have gave out only 5 permits this year (public record)… * there were over 25 politician vans campaigning in this area at the beginning of the year, and countless vendors…
