I find myself enjoying the Ron character. Ron was actually an unexpected character to be honest. I needed a boss character for a storyline a few months down the line and then came up with the whole ultra violent video game strips and decided to unleash Billy and Fletch’s boss. The original plan was for him to not return but then I started to plan this strip and was stuck for a punch line. Then Ron showed up with his unexpected announcement and all was right. He’ll appear in the next strip and then is not scheduled to appear for some time but you never know.

Ron is actually the name of a boss I had a long, long time ago. I had already designed this version of the character before I named him, but I probably should have modeled him after the real Ron. The real Ron was stuck in the 80’s, even though I worked with him in the late 90’s. He had the long, feathered hair and ALWAYS sported his Oakley Sunglasses. You know, the ones that almost look like safety goggles. He even sported the braided belt. In hindsight it was a lot funnier than the skinny tie and bad hairpiece this Ron has.

Oh well…
