49 - On The Plus Side

And so ends our longest story arc to date. One that kind of came out of nowhere and hijacked the comic. We'll see more of Cassandra but the next series of strips are the long promised, life changing, stories that I have been mentioning for some time. Strip 50 (woo-hoo 50) later this week was originally slated to run around strip 20, but we got sidetracked with internet dating, the scavenger hunt and the grocery store girl. The reason those strips ran when they did were in part that I thought they were good ideas, and part that I did not want to part with a character that will see his/her role diminished.

Can't say much about it, don't want to spoil the fun.

From a music standpoint, the new Gojira is really good. Have I mentioned them yet? Think Neurosis/Isis post-hardcore mixed with Strapping Young Lad and maybe a little Meshuggah. I have also recently discovered Danko Jones, a fun, straight up rock band who I know nothing about.

Much of this strip was colored while watching a documentary on Nirvana's Nevermind. While I love that album, it makes me sad because the state of mainstream rock music is in such sorry state. The world needs it's next Lennon/Cobain ASAP.
