86 - Not What You Think

This strip is based on a real life experience. In college I dated this girl off and on for about three months. We broke up, or rather she broke up with me. We remained friends and at the end of the semester she started dating someone new.

One night a bunch of us go to a party and she shows up with him. Knowing that she and I were still close, he makes the effort to get to know me (as I too had promised her I would do). I did not want to like him, but somehow I did. He was a good guy, treated her well and generally cared about her. Part of me wanted him to be a big piece of crap, but another part of me decided if we weren't going to be together, at least she should be with a good guy.

A year and a half later I attended their wedding. Last I heard they were still together.

Expect another strip on Friday. It is penciled and inked already. It is still part of this storyline, but it takes a new twist.
