SAW 2008: Sometimes (like the earlier "Jedi" reference,) I liked to have characters go on at length without really caring what I put in their mouths, acknowleding that the joke was "Here's a long rambling monologue where I put in some non-sequiters that don't really relate to the story!" Like I've said, I didn't quite understand how to pace and phrase a joke, so for no reason at all I had Sewerman boasting he was "Master of the Crippler Crossface" without realizing that, six years later, it would become a reference to a double-murderer. If Steven Tyler ever burns a building down for insurance money, there goes the "Lord of the Thighs" reference.

Eric and I have talked about completely re-doing these early issues, and while the story itself wouldn't change much, the humour would benefit a great deal in that respect.
