Though I largely plotted and scripted issues 7-9 myself, Eric did have input. I'm pretty sure the riot was his idea (since he wouldn't be the one drawing it,) and I liked the way it establishes a somewhat chaotic atmosphere all around. You can't tell from the second panel, where an ill-placed speech bubble overlaps too much, but the cart does indeed say "T-Shirts 'N Things" (in panel 1 in kinda looks like "T-Shirts n' Thugs.") The vendor exchange was more input from Eric.

I do like the interplay between Rodent and Homeless Ninja that crops up in this issue, particularly in this scene. In Panel 4, the shirt depicts the cover to Duran Duran's Rio album - I was always inserting album covers or IMDb promo shots, somewhat inappropriately at times, just to fill out scenes.
