Author notes
This is the first time I've ever coloured anything related to RG. It may actually qualify as false advertising if this is the first glimpse you've ever gotten of RG because I don't ever intend on colouring the comic itself, since the process is too involved and that eliminates the entire purpose of the comic (that, when I feel inspired, I can quickly draw a script, scan it, letter it and have it uploaded in only a day or two.) However, just to show I can use PaintShop a little bit, I've used some of the standard techniques like subtle gradients and desaturations to get a muted colour palette. Just a little bit of graphic design since this is an ad, not a comic. The tagline originally read "About as exciting as any other webcomic" but I felt that was a bit harsh. Whether it's true, well, that's for you to decide. I think the current tagline stands up well anyway, I don't think it's the type of thing that goes over peoples' heads ("Huh? Waiting for a bus is exciting?" Read some Beckett.) I've got the first strip of Chapter 2 ready. It's already being presented in a different way from a lot of Chapter 1: more dialogue, more panels. More action? Not likely. I'm hoping to get myself a bit ahead similar to the way I was working at the end of Chapter 1. I've been getting less days of work at my summer job, so I should have plenty of time. Regular Guy now returns to its usual "Deliberately quick sloppy art" style, thank you very much. Redneck Comics will also be updating.
