2-3: The Head-Exploding Phase

The word he's looking for is "girls."

I think we all went through a time when a pretty girl would walk by, and we'd just stammer until our heads exploded.

No? Just me then?

The bottom panel wasn't originally going to be here but it wouldn't have stood on its own as a strip so I drew it in. I like the image of Nolan as a preppy 14-year-old who gets chicks because he's the first one in his grade to grow facial hair. This also presented me the challenge of drawing four unique one-time characters, and girls at that.

Anytime there's a flashback, I'll probably include a little soundtrack music to indicate the time period. For instance, this one you have Chumbawumba's "Tubthumping" which was everywhere on the radio from 97-98. Expect me to continue along with the flashbacks to lay groundwork for the chapter. Also, you can check out this page unlettered here. I think it still kinda works, actually.
