Author notes
Since I wasn't so keen on the strip I posted today, I decided to take a little initiative and do something extra. I was so enamored with all the flashbacks I was doing that I was annoyed with myself that I couldn't keep jamming them into the story. So I came up with a parallel story called "Reg's Lost Years," basically canonical flashbacks that enhance the current storyline but don't necessarily fit into the narrative structure. In this case, we get further insight into Reg's relationship with Traci, and the answer to a question nobody asked: At what point did Reg stop wearing that cap? Because it's basically a bonus/filler strip, I only did one panel and copied it, modifying only one aspect of the second panel in post. It's not cool - or productive - to just post things like these at once, but as an extra, it's fitting. The soundtrack to this is Traci's music, all dance-style hits of 1999 or so - "Backstreet's Back" by the Backstreet Boys, "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65, "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Bega, "Believe" by Cher. It's just important to note that the late 90's were not full of solely ultra-catchy alt-rock one-hit-wonders as I've made it out to be.
