2-12: Reg meets a new friend

Sorry for the delay, dudes and dudettes. DrunkDuck is hassling the users of Firefox (which I reluctantly am because Opera betrayed me) so it's hard to get around right now. Aherm.

Not much of a strip and I another reason I held off on posting it was so that I could have the next one ready to go soon after. The next strip will be up Saturday.

This one is just sort of a pause - a "Look, new character!" moment. Just so I could show-off a name like "Katie DeLorean." I can't escape my Back to the Future references and neither can you.

Particularly when you're not a terrific artist, it's important to put work into new characters. To get the look I wanted for Katie here, I looked at old photos of a few girls I know who have a similar attitude; she ended up looking nothing like any of them, which is fine. Hopefully, she'll be helping Reg through his tumultuous second youth.

I haven't noted it before but I've done it for a while: I'm stealing the Between Failures idea of using different fonts for characters. I may get kind of inconsistent with it, but I reserve the right. Has there ever been a more authoritative font than Wide Latin? I think not.

Thanks to whomever gave me the word "Asshat." I don't know where I heard it, but I liked it.

Er… yeah. Just come back Saturday, okay?

Also, RN Comics will be updating again on Monday. Awesome.
