It's fun writing awkward dialogue. Reg, trying to be smooth, makes a joke that goes over Katie's head. The sad thing is, I actually think that'd be a half-clever thing to say in those circumstances.

I like this page, but I didn't think I was going to. For starters, I didn't (and don't) know if anyone would be able to follow the two-columns format, but in case you didn't catch it - you read the two on the left-hand side, and then the three on the right. I could've tacked the first two panels onto the previous strip, but that would've made it cluttered. I could've divided this into two strips, but that would make two lightweight strips. I've done this sort of thing before. You get the picture.

The funny thing, I didn't really think I liked my work here until I drew the dodgeball panel. Until then I was lukewarm on the whole damn thing, but as soon as I got that one to look how I wanted it, I was like "Yes! No matter what, I have at least one good panel!" I think it ameliorates the whole page, but that's just me.

The last panel was originally going to be a whole cake with the word "Crap" in frosting, but that mixed the message - you'd have to be a decent baker to pull that off. Home Ec. doesn't really exist as far as I know in this day and age (although it featured prominently in Superbad, my favourite movie of 2007,) but my brother and I both took cooking courses (he took baking, I worked in the cafeteria) to get easy credits in high school, so it's basically the same thing.

I like writing long-ass monologues for no good reason. I don't think anyone reads them, but kudos to you if you do. RN Comics will return on Monday.

Oh yeah, and if someone wanted to be cool and nominate Regular Guy or RN Comics for the DD Awards (which I haven't a prayer of winning, but word of mouth is cool) click here. Sweet, thanks.
