Ch 2: Pg 8: Not Your Fault

It's hard not to blame yourself when other people blame you. I wanted to show her upset about it, buuut I don't know if I'm going to have her wallow that much in self-pity. Gotta get on with the rest of the story.

Can you imagine, though, your teacher admitting to your class that she killed someone at 14 in self-defense? That's gotta be weird. Though…if we're being technical, I think this is counted as involuntary manslaughter as the magic destroying the house was what killed her and it was her father that was attacking her. The original version had Felicity knocking Mr. Nix into his daughter and crushing her since she was weak and brittle. I decided I'd rather her be crushed by a falling object as this would make the death more indirect from Felicity and partially Mr. Nix's fault (well…more so than just him trying her down and attempting to move his daughter's soul into her body).
