Ch 3: Page 4: I Dream of Better Routines

I was in a talent show once in the 5th grade. I was really into mimes for some reason and put together a mime routine…I'm glad video of this doesn't exist. I thought I was good at it, but had no training and only picked up on what I had learned and only the teachers liked it.

But one thing that stuck out to me is that almost every other entry was basically the dance/lip-sync thing. I don't know if that's true of all talent shows, but this was very true for mine. I think the big song that year was the "Don't go chasing waterfalls" and I remember that one being used to some silly little hand movement thing. Then I remember one performance to the Mortal Kombat theme. I mean, mine may be embarrassing to look back on, but at least I tried something different.
