Ch 3: Page 55: The Shape of Mana

In a previous draft, I think I used the proxy more than I do in this version of the story. There were various versions of the proxy, but I mostly stick to the human-ish looking one…which ended up becoming the de facto proxy design.

The other big change is that some of the less reputable wizards would create these monsters from them by stabbing the red orb in the head (it's there to give the wizard control over the proxy…a control orb), which would mutate the proxy into a monster. Felicity's mom hunted these probably as much as anything else.

I toned it down in this version for some reason (mostly because I wanted Felicity's mom to hunt other kinds of monsters), but I kind of miss it because the other version of Autra would throw that into human wizards' faces, saying that not only do they enslave them, but they mistreat them, too by turning them into monsters. Oh well.

And now I would like to pat myself on the back with the last panel. This is probably one of the coolest things I will ever draw for any of my comics. I'm hoping to surpass it later on in the comic, but damn. It's not that well drawn, but compared to my other art it looks cool. (I'll probably regret saying this as my artwork continues to improve, but for now…yes.)
