Even Eryl knows the tone in Akemi's voice on page 03. That challenging, menacing tone of voice that people use when they think you have done something seriously wrong and are trying to get you to admit it.
Also– her race has "rules" about people who use dark magic– rules involving death and eternal banishment.
Using logic and comparison, Eryl has figured out that Akemi thinks she must have "dark magic" of some sort.
