So, this summer, I set myself a manageable goal: write some 8-page comics that I, with my limited artistic ability, could produce myself. All the others turned out to be things I couldn't draw to save my life (but that have gotten farmed out to other people, so, hooray, real artists are going to be drawing some of my other work!), but the first idea, well, that's represented here.

I wanted to use a version of a fairly classic science fiction image, so I figured, "Flying saucer. Observatory. Night sky. Fairly classic." I'd watched The Day The Earth Stood Still (Robert Wise, not Keanau Reeves), and I've always like the way Klaatu's spaceship looked.

I only drew the cover after the other pages were completed, because I'd completely forgotten that comics have covers. That's what you get when you lose sight of anything resembling the big picture, I suppose.
